Privacy Policy
Montar ("Montar", "we", "us") is a unified productivity workspace for teams that use Google Workspace. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@montar.app.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile photo, and (for team features) your Google Workspace directory.
- Content you create in Montar. Tasks, notes, messages, and related settings you add while using the product.
- Google data you connect. With your consent, Montar accesses Google Tasks and Calendar (two-way sync), Drive files it creates for your notes, Google Meet (to start calls from chat), and your Workspace directory (for mentions and messaging).
- Basic usage and device data needed to operate and secure the service.
- Abuse-prevention signals. Montar uses Google reCAPTCHA (via Firebase App Check) to verify that requests come from the real app and not from bots. reCAPTCHA collects device and interaction signals under the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Site analytics. Our public website (montar.app) uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use it: page views, approximate location, and device type. Google processes this data under its Privacy Policy; you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
How we use information
- To provide and maintain Montar and its features.
- To sync your tasks, notes, and calendar with your Google Workspace.
- To secure the service and communicate with you about your account or early access.
Google API Services Limited Use. Montar's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide and improve features you request, do not sell it, and do not use it for advertising.
How information is stored
Your data is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) infrastructure. Content you create is tied to your workspace, and the Google data you connect stays in your own Google Workspace. Montar reads and writes it on your behalf rather than making a separate copy where it isn't needed.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information only with service providers that help us run Montar (such as Google Cloud), or when required by law. Content you create is visible to members of your workspace according to your settings.
Your choices and data deletion
- You can disconnect Google access at any time from Montar's settings. This revokes Montar's access with Google (not just our stored copy), and the same revocation happens automatically if a workspace admin deactivates your membership.
- Notes export to Google Drive and Docs, and your tasks live in Google Tasks, so your work goes with you if you leave.
- To delete your account and associated data, email hello@montar.app. We will delete your account data within 30 days of a verified request. Tasks you assigned to teammates and messages you sent into shared conversations may be retained or attributed to a deactivated account so your team's records stay intact; ask us and we will anonymize them instead.
Retention and backups
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. For disaster recovery, our database keeps short-lived backups (currently rolling 7-day snapshots and point-in-time recovery); deleted data leaves those backups as they roll off, within about 7 days of deletion.
Early access
Montar is currently in early access. Features and this policy may evolve as the product develops; we will update the date above when we make material changes.
